Removing Phragmites

Removing Phragmites

Notice to property owner. Please monitor your property. Two large clumps of active Phragmites were removed from the beach in front of your property this morning while I was doing beach maintenance.

Using heavy equipment to clean an area just spreads the Phragmites over that whole section of the beach. If possible, hand rake, remove and burn in a fire pit.

Find out more about identifying phragmites on your property, or proper techniques to remove it. Local volunteering opportunities are available to assist in our community.
