In Ontario, the investigation and laying of criminal charges is a function of police services and is independent of the Attorney General.

A sad day at Ipperwash as 20 years of working to reestablish trust and working relations between the natives and Lambton Shores were washed down the drain by the unilateral decision of Chief Tom Bressette to remove the car barriers on the beach access points.

For generations natives and non-natives have lived side by side at Ipperwash in relative peace and harmony. Cottagers have made every effort to insure that our community has shown respect and consideration for the people of Kettle Point. This blatantly illegal act by Tom Bressette will strain community relationships, forcing the residents of both communities into an “us and them” mindset.
