Reminder: Dune Spading Day

From the Ipperwash Phrag Phighters:
Volunteers are needed and welcome to participate in our Ipperwash Beach and Dunes Spading Event.  Come out for a short fun event to improve and protect our community from the invasive species, Phragmites!

When:

  • Sunday, June 24, 2018
  • 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm

Where:

  • Meet at MNRF Area 1 parking lot
    East Parkway Drive

Bring:

  • sturdy shoes
  • garden gloves
  • sunscreen, bug spray
  • water

Provided:

  • spades
  • paper lawn waste bags

Learn how to recognize Phragmites in various stages of growth.

Learn the proper method for spading as a control technique.

Learn how to properly dispose of invasive species.

Students can get credit for community volunteer hours.
