Join Ipperwash Phragmites Phighters for our winter 2020 community cull event on the Tanner-West Parkway Swale! Event date to be determined based on weather – we need the swale to freeze. Hot chocolate and chili lunch will be available to all RSVP’d volunteers.

We are patiently waiting for the swale to freeze so we can get in and remove the remaining phragmites before spring. This will be an important event for us as removing these phragmites will allow better tracking of the swale and more targeted attacks on new growth phrag so we can focus our efforts where most needed. The Tanner swale has been a massive undertaking and progress has been remarkable thanks to our dedicated volunteers. Help us keep that momentum going!

Updates will be posted in the coming weeks to solidify plans and provide more information on specific volunteer opportunities. Come out and meet friends, old and new. No experience required. Our goal is to get this project done on a weekend date during the last two weeks of February but the date could be earlier or later as required by weather.

Follow this event and our group for updates.
