Join us for a fun and enlightening talk with Jill Crosthwaite the Coordinator, Conservation Biology, Southwestern Ontario of the Nature Conservancy of Canada focusing on native and invasive species in the area.
Jill Crosthwaite completed her undergraduate degree in Zoology at the University of Guelph and her MSc at Western University, where she studied overwintering mechanisms in the Emerald Ash Borer. Working with an invasive species spurred an interest in conservation and she began working with the Nature Conservancy of Canada in 2010. She has been with NCC ever since, doing on-the-ground work to manage NCC’s conservation lands in southwestern Ontario. Much of her time in the field is spent controlling invasive species, restoring agricultural lands, managing recreational access, and generally ensuring the properties remain quality habitats for common and rare native species.
